- Why are you guys talking about presidents? You do realize it is congress who creates the budgets right? It is congress that makes tax laws right? You do know that congress decides how much, and what to spend money on right?

- Jim's right on the sales tax. In addition, it would encourage people to buy big ticket items out of the country. So when the rich by their airplanes, yachts, and expensive cars ... none of that money would be spent in the country.

- It's not required for non-union employees, but the vast majority do take a 30m+ lunch. Unions gets several breaks throughout the day.

- Part of it is that, some people think a smaller engine makes them less of a man (oh boy does that open a can of worms ;). But mostly it is just brand loyalty. Theirs is the best, all others are crap. PC vs Mac, Windows vs Linux, Playstation vs Xbox, it's all the same argument.

exactly. everybody in this mess wants a handout. nobody wants to find a solution. the government is just as bad. they want people to spend even if it will damage the economy. people need a nest egg to fall back on in bad times. the best thing about this is companies bringing back layaway. you get it when you pay for it. not when you sign for it. talk about bad lending. how does bank of america lend money to republic window to pay employees severance packages if the company is out of business. how do they pay it back. they loaned it because the government pushed them into it.
